Charities we support

Here at Grant, we like to give back. We’re big supporters of local and national charities, community organisations, and groups, that we champion through a range of charitable fundraising initiatives. Over the years we have donated financial support and scientific equipment to several organisations in the Cambridge area and the wider UK community. We’ve got a great team at Grant, who not only keep the Grant cogs turning every day, but also go the extra mile to fundraise and volunteer their time.

Melbourn Village College

In 2016 pupils at Melbourn Village College benefitted from a donation of four JB Aqua unstirred water baths. The water baths have given pupils at the college the tools to work on smart materials during design and technology lessons.

Blue Smile

In 2016 Grant Instruments donated £201.36 to Blue Smile following a staff bake sale. Blue Smile is a children’s charity in Cambridge providing counseling and therapy for pupils in schools between the ages of 3 to 13.

RSPCA East Winch Wildlife Centre

In August 2015 Grant donated an unstirred water bath to RSPCA East Winch Wildlife Centre. The water bath is an essential piece of equipment used to warm the hedgehog's milk feed in the center’s isolation ward.

Bottisham Village College

In July 2015, Grant Instruments donated a JB Academy unstirred water bath to Bottisham Village College. The water bath is used for scientific experiments by pupils in the science department.

Shepreth Wildlife Conservation Charity

In May 2015, staff at Grant organised a fundraising lunch buffet on ‘eat what you want day’ raising £100 for Shepreth Wildlife Conservation charity. The charity raised money for important wildlife conservation work both at home and abroad.

Newmarket and District Swimming Club

In 2014, the local Newmarket and District Swimming Club received a donation of a new trophy cabinet following a club refurbishment.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

In 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 Grant hosted annual Macmillan Coffee Mornings in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, raising hundreds of pounds each time.

Dragon Boat Race Festival

In 2018 and 2019, Grant has taken part in the dragon boat race, alongside holding a variety of events such as a Grant bake-off, lunchtime quizzes, summer garden party, and raffles, all in aid of the Addenbrookes Charitable Trust.
